Music is a central ministry at Trinity Reformed Church and one of the best ways to get involved in community life. Trinity offers an adult choir which sings 3-4 times a month, a smaller chamber choir, a teen choir, and a youth choir. These resources are harnessed into an Evensong service on the first Sunday evening of every month, when Trinity opens its doors to anyone from the community to come and listen to the music of great composers.
In our Sunday morning worship service, Trinity wants to take a simple truth—we might call it the Hebrews 12 truth—that Sunday morning worship actually takes place in heaven with the saints and with angels and in the presence of Yahweh, and it wants to press that truth out like a hot iron across every crease in the fabric of our worship. Trinity recognizes that music is God’s uniquely ordained tool for catching up his saints into the flurry and fire of worship. We recognize that the church in the past has acknowledged that prophetic role of musicians better than we do now, and we want to recover that. We also recognize that will take years of hard work and a lot of structural building blocks. We want this site to be a hub of activity and energy to that end, and a way for our congregation to keep us accountable to the vision that we’ve set before ourselves, a vision that stretches out quite a few years into the future.
