Trinity Reformed Church, a member of the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches, is ruled by a session of elders which meets regularly each week. We have three ruling elders, four teaching elders, and two ministers. We also have a board of deacons which aids the session in their work.
Our Pastors
Joshua Appel, Pastor
Joshua Appel (M.A., Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando) is a pastor at Trinity Reformed Church. Pastor Appel is also a part-time Fellow at New Saint Andrews College where he teaches theology, gastronomy, and shamelessly promotes the novels of Patrick O’Brian. Joshua and his wife, Sara, who is the church’s youth choir director, have seven children: Blaise, Ella, Merry Blythe, Giles, Magdalen, Nils, and Ila Pearl.
Ryan Handermann, Pastor
Ryan Handermann is a pastor at Trinity Reformed Church. He is married to Courtney and they have seven children.
CJ Bowen, Pastor
CJ Bowen (M.Div, Duke Divinity School) is a pastor at Trinity Reformed Church. He also serves as Director of Student Development at Reformed Evangelical Seminary. CJ and his wife Lisa have three children: Maggie, Lissie, and Will.

Roy Atwood, Teaching Elder
Roy Atwood is a teaching elder at TRC and serves as the organizing president of Reformed Evangelical Seminary (revseminary.com). He and Beverlee have been married 50 years and have two children, 12 grandchildren, a granddaughter-in-law, and one great grandchild.
Chris Schlect, Teaching Elder
Chris Schlect is a teaching elder at Trinity Reformed Church and a Fellow at New Saint Andrews College. Chris and his wife, Brenda, live in Moscow and have five children and a growing number of grandchildren.
Joseph Schoolland, Ruling Elder
Joseph Schoolland is a ruling elder at Trinity Reformed Church. Joseph and his wife Sarah have five children, Thaddeus, Alice, Beatrix, Jethro, and Brigitta.
Timothy van den Broek, Teaching Elder
Timothy van den Broek is a ruling elder at Trinity Reformed Church. Timothy and his wife, Anna, have seven children, Lynnette, Hendrick, Jasper, Boaz, Beatrice, Evangeline, and Adri.

Jacob Rush, Pastoral Intern
Jacob Rush is a pastoral intern at Trinity Reformed Church and leads the Virtus Fellowship program for Trinity’s junior and high school students. He is also the Director of Operations at RedBalloon.work and teaches humanities at White Horse Hall. He and his incredible wife, Jane, have two hilarious children, Lewis and Vivian.
